Project Spotlight — Mercedes-Benz Stadium Inaugural Concert
Garth Brooks x AMBSE | Sold-Out Launch of the World’s Most Tech-Driven Stadium in an hour
Overview
Client: AMB Sports & Entertainment / Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Audience: 86,000+ (sold-out)
Scope: Strategy, design, full turn-key production & execution
Objective: Deliver a history-making first concert worthy of launching the most technologically advanced stadium on the planet—and sell every seat in the house.
The Challenge
Launching a venue at this scale meant everything was “firsts”: first concert, first full rig, first power-up. Systems were untested; the roof’s operational status was variable; more than 100 semi-trailers needed to move through the building; and content had to command the world’s largest halo display—while ensuring every seat felt like the best seat in the house.
Strategy & Artist Selection
Ignition led end-to-end due diligence—cost modeling, design and production estimating, labor and freight planning, routing and pre-fabrication scenarios—then aligned all numbers to identify the right headliner. Garth Brooks was the strategic choice: a guaranteed sell-out capable of filling 86k+ seats for a stadium-defining moment. Tickets sold out in just over an hour.
The Production Solution
To maximize capacity and immersion, we designed a 360° concert architecture anchored by a custom oval mainstage and a super-grid overhead. Runways stretched endzone-to-endzone; stage elevators, LED trims, moving LED, and a full ring of moving fixtures around the lower bowl delivered wraparound energy. Ignition also created a new 4K content stack and executed a complete stadium media takeover—the halo board, ribbon boards, and the mega column—to transform the venue into a living canvas for the show.

Experience Design
Every-seat immersion: 360° staging + bowl-wide lighting lattice for arena-scale intimacy
Motion-driven storytelling: synchronized halo/ribbon/column content that extended stage moments to the upper bowl
Operational certainty: new-venue risk planning across rigging, power, trucking flow, safety, and show-crew choreography to keep the critical path on time and on budget
Outcome
Stadium first: Seamless execution of the inaugural concert in a never-before-rigged venue
Commercial win: 86,000+ tickets sold; sell-out achieved in just over an hour
Creative benchmark: A new standard for stadium-scale media orchestration and guest immersion
Partnership model: AMBSE + Ignition collaboration that fused visionary design with ironclad logistics—now the blueprint for future MBS live events
